ABSTRACT

This research aims to find out how social media aided university students become more health conscious during the COVID-19 pandemic and the gratifications obtained from them. The researchers prepared a questionnaire that corresponds to the study's axis using a descriptive analytical approach. Its reliability, validity, and suitability for measuring the goals of this research were all verified. Students from Jordanian universities made up the study population, where the study sample was made up of 600 randomly selected individuals. The usage of social media helped increase students' awareness of their health during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the level of statistical significance (α = 0.05), differences in gender in favor of females, university type in favor of public universities, and level in favor of higher years were evident. The study made several key recommendations, some of which include working to develop mechanisms that restrict the spread of misleading information on each social media applications and platforms, the necessity of continuing to disseminate health awareness information in all of its forms, and the need to define the current situation and the most significant hazards of the coronavirus in the current period. © 2022 Science Press. ABSTRACT

COVID-19 has induced the need of exercises and yoga among people. Yoga is now becoming a habit of everyone for staying fit and healthy through body and mind. Since, it was the period of complete lockdown, people started preferring online modes for the same. There are many different apps on the play store specifically for doing yoga. With the advent of artificial intelligence in various industries, it is also winning the hearts of the yoga enthusiasts too. The integration of AI in the fitness industry (AI enabled fitness trainers, smart wearables, AI based gym equipment to name a few) is gaining huge momentum among the health conscious. This paper walks through different yoga mobile applications that use the techniques of artificial intelligence to motivate their customers with personalized experience and positive feedback and introduces a new concept of AI based Yoga Trainer who reminds, instructs, guides, and motivates a user to do yoga or while doing yoga. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Smart building technologies transform buildings into agile, sustainable, and health-conscious ecosystems by leveraging IoT platforms. In this regard, we have developed a Persuasive Energy Conscious Network (PECN) at the University of Glasgow to understand the user-centric energy consumption patterns in an agile workspace. PECN consists of desk-level energy monitoring sensors that enable us to develop user-centric models that can be exploited to characterize the normal energy usage behavior of an office occupant. In this study, we make use of staked long short-term memory (LSTM) to forecast future energy demands. Moreover, we employed statistical techniques to automate the detection of anomalous power consumption patterns. Our experimental results indicate that post-anomaly resolution leads to 6.37% improvement in the forecasting accuracy. © 2022 IEEE.
